Who we are

Information we collect

We collect information you provide when you create or use your account, including your email address, name or profile details, goals, planned actions, ideal day settings, rest day preferences, weekly reviews, coaching preferences, accountability partner settings, support messages, and any photo you choose to attach to an action you have completed.

We may collect app usage, diagnostics, device information, push notification tokens, subscription status, and purchase entitlement information needed to operate the app, provide paid features, improve reliability, and troubleshoot issues.

Where you allow it, we also collect advertising and attribution identifiers so we can tell which advertisement or link brought you to 12Focus. See Advertising and attribution below.

How we use information

We use information to provide account access, sync your goals and actions, generate coaching and review experiences, send notifications you enable, support accountability partner features, manage subscriptions, improve the product, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests.

Service providers

We use service providers to run the app, including hosting, database, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, email or support tools, AI processing, and subscription management. These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to 12Focus.

AI features

Some 12Focus features use AI to generate coaching prompts, action suggestions, reflections, or summaries. Relevant goal, action, review, and preference data may be sent to AI service providers only to generate the requested app experience. When you attach a photo to a completed action, the image itself is sent to our AI service provider so that the coach can respond to what it shows, along with the title of that action and the goal it belongs to. Photos are not used to train anyone's models.

Advertising and attribution

We advertise 12Focus on Meta platforms, including Facebook and Instagram. So that we can tell which advertisement brought someone to 12Focus, our website and app report a small set of events to Meta: a page view, a tap on a store link, an app install, a completed sign-up, and the start of a trial or subscription, with the amount and currency where one applies. These events never carry your goals, planned actions, notes, weekly reviews, or anything your coach has written.

On iOS we ask your permission before your device's advertising identifier is used for this, and the app works exactly the same whether you allow it or not. If you decline, results reach us only in the aggregated form Apple permits, which cannot be traced back to you. On Android you can reset the advertising identifier or turn off ad personalisation in your device settings at any time.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers, when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or when you choose to use a feature that shares information with another user, such as an accountability partner. A photo you attach to an action is shown to your accountability partner only when you name that partner as part of that particular send; there is no setting that shares your photos in advance.

Data retention and deletion

We keep account data while your account is active or as needed to provide the app. You can request account deletion from the app or at https://12focus.app/delete-account/. Account deletion removes your account and associated app data, except limited records we may need to retain for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or payment records. Photos attached to actions are kept for the duration of the 12-week cycle they belong to plus 30 days, and are then deleted automatically. You can also delete any photo yourself at any time from the app, which removes your partner's copy of it as well.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.

Children

12Focus is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page.
